The words chocolate-box spring to mind when you enter this pretty café/bistro; a mix of Wes Anderson allure, French culinary flare and old British empire. Masterful pastries drawing on classical Parisian techniques enhanced by the Galvin brothers’ expertise and Mediteranean flavours— all of this merges together to provide an honest presentation of tantalising dishes and charming service. Macaroons and viennoiseries are baked fresh, in-house, each day, all to be complemented with a wide selection of expertly sourced teas, refreshing juice concoctions and tempting breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner menus of rich and fanciful favourites. Their exquisite shortcrust pastry falls short of nothing and the chocolate fondant and macaroons are some of the best we’ve tasted.

CP Tip: Don’t forget to explore upstairs with its ‘tea library’ and beautiful painted ceiling, along with terrace seating overlooking the fountain square.
