Greenwhich Hotel, NYC
Peek into the Greenwhich's private courtyard on an evening and you're likely to spot at least one 'A lister', Robert Deniro's lived-in, urban oasis offers dedicated five-star indulgence in cobble-stoned Tribeca. The walls of the 88-room luxury hotel are decorated in the actor's late father's paintings, abstract expressionist painter, Robert Henry De Niro. No expense has been spared in the Greenwich’s quest for authenticity, from the impeccable yet relaxed service, to the homely interiors. The property's main restaurant, Locanda Verde, is a regularly busy spot serving high-end, rustic Italian fare, while the considerate curation carries through to the Shibui Spa; encased in a 250 year-old Japanese Barn (shipped to NYC piece by piece). The one and two bedroom suites and penthouses are classically refined with a wide range of cultural influences complimented by inviting, English leather sofas and hand-loomed, Tibetan silk rugs. The bathrooms are designed with Italian Carrara marble or hand-laid Moroccan tile and the beds hail from Sweden’s top comfort provider, Duxiana.
