Since 2008, Tashkeel has been Dubai's corner stone for the local artist community, facilitating and encouraging professional art and design. Spanning across two venues— artist studios in Al Fahidi neighbourhood by the Creek and a primary facility in Nad Al Sheba, that as well as studios, houses professional artist workshop facilities and an exhibition space. A full programme offers opportunities to local artists to participate in exhibitions, events and professional and recreational workshops. Adjacent they also run three residencies a year for local and international artists and a further six residences in conjunction with their partner entities— Delfina Foundation London, Dubai Culture, Arts Authority and Art Dubai. There is also a large outdoor skate park, used as a meeting point for the local skater scene.
