This upmarket tapas restaurant serves an outstanding menu of hot and cold dishes created by Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette, bringing a taste of Barcelona to an unassuming location on City Walk. The concept initially hails from Boston and while playing innovatively with traditional Spanish cuisine, the team do a great job of breeding an authentic atmosphere, with interesting private areas and two bars serving classic shaken and stirred cocktails, fusions and signature creations.

Standout dishes are the squid ink croquets, goats cheese toasted with caramelised onions and truffled honey, roasted bone marrow with beef marmalade, whole lobster and seafood paella, red prawns and the extravagant nostalgia of the sea urchin toasted sandwich with miso butter and pickled mustard seeds.

If you’re down for some fun, share Sangria the traditional way (via a porron) and if you’re not familiar, ask the enthusiastic bar manager for a pro’s demonstration. The gin trolley, DJ, cigar menu and club-style atmosphere is reserved for upstairs, with more sophisticated seating on the ground floor beside the cocktail bar, while terrace tables sit street-side.
